High School Science News

I just wanted to share some more information about things that we have been doing in science class this year:

The anatomy class traveled to Vermillion, SD on April 17th to visit the cadaver lab at the USD Medical Building. This opportunity is offered free of charge by the college and gives the students a hands on opportunity to study the anatomy of the body. Students were able to examine and touch a donor body. They were able to pass around organs, pull on tendons, and feel nerves. In addition, the students examined multiple pathologies such as an alcoholic's liver, a brain with a stroke, a brain hemorrhage, a torn ACL, and much more. We want to thank the school and USD's medical program for allowing us this unique opportunity to learn about anatomy!
