biodiversity

The VH Zoology class recently completed a biodiversity project using iNaturalist.org. Students were tasked with photographing local wildlife and plants from South Dakota. After tracking and photographing their organisms they were tasked with identifying characteristics and behaviors, the sex of the organism, and the common and species names. Student submissions included wolf spiders, beavers, white tail deer, monarchs, trout, and much more. The goal of this project was to introduce students to the role of wildlife biologists and to explore the biodiversity of South Dakota.
