On October 1, 2019, Amber Richey, Director of the Lawrence County Public Defender’s Office, visited with the high school Social Problems and Senior Experience classes. Having previously served as a prosecutor in both Lawrence and Meade counties, she addressed of both sides of the law and discussed issues endemic to South Dakota. Students were encouraged to ask questions, and a lively discussion ensued. Several students in the Social Problems class stayed after the bell to inquire about specific issues. Ms. Richey promised to return in the spring to continue the discussion.
