Remain Open to Change

Paulette Schenck, AKA, Dr. Punkin, visited with the Senior Experience/Capstone class on November 11 – 12.  Dr. Schenck, who received her doctorate in guidance and counseling, has taught graduate classes at several colleges and served as a high school counselor in Alaska for many years.  She began her presentation with this photo of herself and Ms. Richey ready to travel to Italy.  Her point being that as seniors in high school we had no idea that we would travel as we have. Her advice, therefore, was to remain open to change.  She expanded on starting out, starting over, self-exploration, occupational exploration, goal setting and decision-making, and how to implement a decision.  She concluded her two days talking about and giving specific examples of how to design a life.
