Middle School Veteran's Program

Viborg-Hurley Middle School held their Veteran's Day program on Wednesday, November 8th. The program started with the Hurley Color Guard presenting the flags followed by essays written by 3 of the middle school students about "What A Veteran Means to Me". Members of the 7th & 8th grade band played taps, then everyone watched a video about the Star Spangled Banner. At the end of the program , the Stitchin Chicks quilt guild drew veteran Tom Christiansen's name for  their Veteran's Day Quilt. The Color Guard, with the help of some 5th graders, performed the Flag Retirement and Disposal Ceremony ending with the incineration of several worn and tattered flags.
