Viborg-Hurley School District Receives Snow Plow Donation

The Viborg-Hurley School District recently received a generous donation from the Alex Bawek Family. New to the Viborg-Hurley School Community, the Bawek Family sought to support the District and express their gratitude for the warm welcome they've received since relocating to their home in rural Viborg. Alex, who has extensive experience in the truck equipment industry, believed that the school would benefit from a snow plow to handle the challenging South Dakota winter weather.

"After moving to the area, my family and I have been more than grateful for the way the community comes together and provides assistance when it's most important. We are committed to continuing our support for the community and school in any way possible, just as many small businesses have assisted us during our move to the area. Go Cougars!" said Bawek.

The new snow plow was mounted onto the school pickup and made its inaugural run during the recent snowfall around the Christmas holiday.

"On behalf of the Viborg-Hurley School District, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Bawek Family for their generous donation. We are thrilled to have them as part of the Cougar Community. This significant donation directly benefits the snow removal process and exemplifies a gracious act of generosity," stated Superintendent Mellem.

The addition of the snow plow will significantly enhance the efficiency and safety of snow removal operations at the Viborg-Hurley School District.
