The Viborg-Hurley School District is excited to announce the upcoming construction of a state-of-the-art athletic complex, made possible through a partnership with Mammoth Sports Construction, LLC. This new facility will be located in Viborg on land recently acquired just west of the current football field.
Designed to meet the growing needs of the district’s athletic programs and enhance the experience for students, athletes, and fans alike, the complex will feature:
An eight-lane track
A 100-yard artificial turf football field
Areas for all standard track and field events
A grandstand with seating for 500 spectators
A modern press box
A combined concession and restroom facility
With an estimated project cost of $6 million, the district has structured funding in a fiscally responsible manner. The project will be financed through $1.5 million already available in the capital outlay account, while the remaining $4.5 million will come from a capital outlay certificate—a loan that will be repaid using existing tax revenues. Importantly, no tax increase will be necessary to fund the project.
Construction is expected to begin soon, with a targeted completion date in Fall 2025.
“We’re thrilled to begin this project and provide a facility that our students and the entire Viborg-Hurley community can take pride in for generations to come,” said Superintendent Brett Mellem.
Stay tuned for updates as the Viborg-Hurley School District embarks on this exciting new chapter in its commitment to student athletics and community development.
