Cougars Shine in Summer Activities
Viborg-Hurley students have been making the most of their summer with impressive accomplishments in both academics and athletics.
Gabe LaCroix recently attended a week-long Transportation Engineering Camp at South Dakota State University, where he was named the Top High School Student. Throughout the camp, Gabe engaged in team competitions and explored various facets of transportation engineering, including bridge design, concrete structures, and aerospace systems.
In athletics, Bridget Benest took home top honors at the State Trap Shooting Competition in Aberdeen, placing 1st in the Female Junior Varsity division after hitting an outstanding 90 out of 100 targets. She was joined at the state meet by fellow Viborg-Hurley competitors Tavian Klawonn and Scottlyn Becker, who also represented the district well.
On the softball field, Charley Nelson earned a spot on the 2025 Class B All-State Softball Team. Nelson led the Cougars to a strong season that ended just one game shy of the state tournament.
Congratulations to all these students on their hard work and success!
