Dissection Basics: Learning to be safe in the lab
The 8th grade at VHMS is learning the importance of dissections as well as the basics of dissection tool safety. They finished the 2nd quarter practicing their newfound knowledge of dissection tools in the dissection of hot dogs, pickles, worms & cow eyes.
Physical/Chemical Changes: 5th grade
The 5th grade class as VHMS has been busy this year learning the different tools, lab rules & expectations of a Science class. They have learned how to read a ruler, measure mass with a triple beam balance, and read a graduated cylinder for volume. We are putting it all together in this unit of Changes in Matter. In this guided lab, they are observing both physical & chemical changes while making smores.
