Forensic Science Investigations

The forensic science course just completed a crime scene processing and sketching activity a couple weeks ago. Each team was assigned a crime scene (4 in total). There task was to photograph and sketch the scene, collect and measure any evidence, and come up with a crime scene reconstruction scenario. The teams had to submit a formal sketch of the crime scene, a crime scene photo document, an evidence collection log, and a reconstruction summary for their chapter assessment. The students spent one full day outside analyzing and measuring their crime scenes and used the second day to work on their assigned roles for the project. This was the final chapter on how to analyze and process crime scenes. The rest of the course will focus on the individual types of evidence such as hair/fiber, death, ballistics, blood, DNA, arson, forgery, fingerprinting, and much more.
