The Viborg-Hurley School District would like to introduce the addition of a strength and conditioning coach for the 2022-23 school year. Mr. Cory Jacobsen has been hired as the strength and conditioning coach with his contracted position running from the beginning of August to the end of May. Coach Jacobsen will be working with VHHS Athletic Teams during the school year and be available to assist VH students with individual workouts. His contracted duties will include creating in-season team specific strength and conditioning workouts, working with teams/coaches as needed in the weight room, being available to create workouts for Viborg-Hurley students during the school year, teaching students proper lifting techniques, and overseeing the high school weight room.

In addition to his contracted time, there will be summer offerings for a cost of $50/athlete that will be paid to the school.  Portions of the payment will be used to defray the cost of any equipment required for the program. The District’s goal is to create a unified approach to strength and conditioning across all sports during the summer.  Rather than having separate programs for each sport and having kids have to choose which one to do, or overextend themselves trying to do multiple programs. We believe it will be best to have a unified approach.  Viborg-Hurley athletes not participating in the summer program are still able to be involved in all athletic activities during the 22-23 school year. Workout facilities are available to all Viborg-Hurley High School students during the summer months.

If you have further questions feel free to contact Mr. Mellem or Mr. Schoenefeld.
