On September 20th, the 5th-graders attended an American Flag presentation in their classroom. The presentation was presented by Hurley Legion member, Tom Christensen. Throughout the school year, it is the 5th-graders’ job to put the flag up in the morning and take it down at the end of each school day. Mr. Christensen taught the students the importance of taking care of the flag and making sure it is folded the proper way. At the end of the presentation, some of the students even got the chance to test their folding skills. Thanks again, Tom Christensen, for taking time out of your schedule to educate our 5th-graders on flag etiquette.
