I-W starting with 8th grade at 4:00 in the old gym and C- team at 5:00 in the new gym; Thursday- 1st round FB playoff game v. Britton-Hecla with kickoff at 6:00 pm- no activity tickets/golden age passes accepted; Friday- VB v. Hanson starting at 5:00 pm with C team - Kobee Strong night; Saturday- State CC at Rapid City. Cougar FB will host first-round playoff action in Viborg on Thursday, October 24th v. Britton-Hecla. Game time will be at 6:00 pm.
Cougar FB tonight v. Howard in Viborg at 7:00 pm. We will be recognizing the seniors participating in cross country and football and their parents at 6:45 pm. Parents please meet on the N side of the crow's nest and walk out with your son to the middle of the field. This is the last regular season game and will determine the Cornbelt Conference champions! Congratulations to Ben Ferdig and Owen Niederbaumer (and Coach Hansen) on qualifying for the State CC Meet in Rapid City! Ben finished in 5th place and Owen 12th out of 58 runners. The team which included Wyatt Slack finished 5th out of 24 teams! Both the JV girls and boys teams finished in 3rd place. Great job Cougars!

The schedule was released today for the Thunder Nation VB Tourney on Saturday in Lake Andes. There are 8 teams in a full bracket tournament. V-H will face T-D/A in their first match scheduled for 10:00 am. Final matches of the day are scheduled to start at 2:00 pm.

Officials Appreciation Week- as was announced at last night's VB game this week is set aside by the SDHSAA to recognize fall sports officials. These dedicated men and women take time away from their personal schedules and families to provide opportunities for thousands of athletes across the State. In addition, they have to attend rules & region meetings, clinics, and take tests in preparation for the season. Let's do our best to show our appreciation for them, not just this week, but at all times!
Reminder: VH has five days of school this week (Monday, October 7-Friday, October 11). There will be no PreK on Friday. The extra 5-day school weeks are due to an extended Christmas break.
