It's "Senior Night" tonight... one of my favorite nights where we recognize our senior basketball players and cheerleaders. Senior recognition will happen before the boy's varsity game tonight. The theme for tonight's game is "Jersey night". Tomorrow night's theme will be "Red White & Blue". Here's to a great week of basketball! Go Cougars!

Our Ag Metal Fab Students have been very busy this past semester working on various projects. Here are just a couple of the amazing projects that they have done.
First Grade Parents - Mrs. Rice will not be in for conferences today as she is home with a sick child. She will email everyone on Monday to reschedule with anyone that would like to do that.

Just a reminder the Mighty Mites will be performing tonight, February 1st in Hurley during half-time of the varsity boys basketball game. Please have your child/children come to the small gym midway through the 1st quarter to receive their t-shirt and prepare for the performance. Thanks to all those who participated!

The GBB/BBB doubleheader against Canistota on February 4th will be played in Hurley. Order of the games will be JV GBB 4:00, JV BBB 5:30, V GBB 6:45, V BBB 8:00
The Viborg-Hurley Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
With the onset of extremely cold temperatures this week, we are asking parents to make sure that their children are dressed in appropriate winter gear (coat, gloves, snowpants, hats, scarves, snowboots) before venturing outside. Even a short time exposed to these temperatures can lead to frostbite. We also encourage parents to make sure that students driving in their own vehicles to school have these items as well as a winter survival kit with them. You never know when a car might stall or slip into the ditch. Vehicles cool off quickly in these temps including school buses.
Before we know it Parent Teacher Conferences will be here. Conferences will be held on February 7th. Notes are going home with elementary students in bags today with your time so please check and make sure the time works. (It is the same time you had for fall conferences). If this time doesn't work for you or you need to set up a time with your child's teacher, please call/email me and I can see what is open and get you scheduled in. Conference times are 10 minutes in length. Reminder that all conferences are held in the Viborg building, with the Middle & High School staff set up in the gym. Conferences run from 2:00-8:00 PM.
The BBB games with Canistota that were scheduled for tomorrow night in Hurley have been postponed at this time because of the dangerous wind chills predicted for tomorrow night. Please watch the calendar and website for updates on when these games will be rescheduled.

Contrary to news reports that there is an outbreak of impetigo on the Viborg-Hurley schools wrestling team, I would like to report that there have been no cases of this at this time. Please be assured that our coaches actively take measures to help prevent this by disinfecting our mats daily.
